Damion James story explains tough life

The Austin American-Statesman has an excellent article on the former Dragon and his childhood:

Williams admitted she was not the best mother.

"I was young myself," Katrina Williams said. "I was still trying to party, run the streets instead of raising my kids. I regret things, like not taking the kids to the park or signing them up for T-ball. I was still acting like a kid myself."

James was reared mostly by his maternal grandmother, Katherine Williams. She lived in a trailer next to Katrina's apartment. James would visit his mother and take snacks back to the trailer. Katherine and Katrina argue over who really is James' mother.
