James averaged 12.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game while leading Texas to three victories last week. He posted 10 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks against Iowa (Nov. 23) in the semifinals of the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic. James then followed with a game-high 20 points and nine rebounds against Pittsburgh (Nov. 24) in the championship game of the CBE Classic. He was named MVP of the CBE Classic, averaging 15.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game during the two wins in Kansas City. James added eight points and eight rebounds in Sunday's win at Rice (Nov. 29).

Alton Dixon joins AFL

OurSportsCentral.com says he'll join other former Panthers Jorvorskie Lane and Terrence Parks:

During his senior season with Texas A&M in 2008, Dixon (5'11", 197 lbs.) led the Aggies defense with 94 total tackles in 12 games played including two tackles-for-loss and two pass break-ups. Dixon made the transition from defensive back to linebacker during his senior season to add quickness up front for the Aggies' defense.

Robert Ray recovers from injury

BlueJays.com has an excellent article on the former Panther, stating he showed no signs of injury during fall ball:

Ray -- a seventh-round selection by the Blue Jays in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft -- went 2-1 with a 4.81 ERA in seven starts with the Phoenix Desert Dogs in the AFL this offseason. Over 24 1/3 innings, the 25-year-old righty compiled 25 strikeouts against seven walks, allowing 16 runs (13 earned) on 34 hits.
