Anna Whiddon comments on offensive catalyst

The former Huntington Lady Devil had good things to say to The Stillwater News-Press about Mariah Gearhart:

“She’s a big part of our team obviously,” Whiddon said. “She’s done a great job for us this year, whether it’s being hit by a pitch — she has a lot of those — whether it’s hitting the ball to the outfield or whether whatever.

“She just does her job and is really a team leader in her actions. She tries to get everyone fired up but is like, ‘I’ve got to get on base, that way everyone’s going to be fired up and I’m going to score.’ She just does an excellent job at just being herself pretty much in getting the team behind her and everything.”
